How To Reach Kasauli By Road
Kasauli is 290 km away from Delhi. Kasauli is well connected by road from cities and districts like Delhi, Chandigarh, Solan, Shimla and Ambala.
Drive A Car
If you have driven to a hilly area by your own car before and you feel it more convenient, then it is the best option to travel to Kasauli. You won’t have to wait for buses, you will be able to travel easily for kilometres. As the cab service charges more, you won’t need to book a cab when you have your own car.
Here is the route you can take to reach Kasauli:

There are some guidelines to follow before you are going to drive by yourself:
- You have to turn right towards Kalka from Zirakpur,14 km before Chandigarh.
- Just before reaching Pinjore, you have to take a turn on the Shimla highway (There will be a board showing diversion for Shimla).
- You have to turn left towards Kasauli from Maxima watch factory chowk, 2 km before Dharampur.
Hiring a cab is a good option because cab companies provide professional cabs for pick up and drop to and from Kasauli. Once you reach Kasauli, you will have your own transport to travel easily to destinations inside or near Kasauli.

There is no direct bus to Kasauli and Kasauli doesn’t have a bus stand. The nearest bus stand is in Parwanoo.
You can reach Chandigarh first from Kashmiri Gate ISBT Delhi. You don't need to wait for a bus even for 10 minutes as there are many buses available for this route. Just be careful to board a bus that takes you to ISBT sector 43 Chandigarh, not to ISBT sector 17 Chandigarh.
From Chandigarh, you can take a taxi to reach Kasauli.
If you want to go by bus, then there is only one direct bus for Kasauli from Sangrur that stops at ISBT sector 43 Chandigarh, and then goes to Kasauli. No guarantee though that you will get a seat at Chandigarh ISBT as it is not the origin.
Another option is to get a bus going to Shimla from Chandigarh and get down at Dharampur. From Dharampur, you can book a taxi.
If you are with the family, better to book a taxi from Chandigarh or Delhi.

You can reach Kasauli by boarding a flight. All you need to do is look for the time when the weather conditions are pleasant and there is no downpour. Check the weather forecast beforehand.
1. Chandigarh- You can a get flight to Chandigarh from Delhi as Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport to Kasauli. The airport is around 70 km away from Kasauli. From the airport, a cab or taxi can easily be hired at a nominal price, which will take 2-3 hours to reach Kasauli.
Domestic flight services are available to Chandigarh from all major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, Chennai, Srinagar, Kolkata on a regular basis.

Cab Rates: It will cost you around ₹1400-2500 for a cab journey.
2. Bhuntar- Another airport near to Kasauli is Bhuntar Airport, Kullu-Manali. It is 211 km away from Kasauli. IndiGo is the operator of the flights to this region. From the airport, a cab or taxi can easily be hired, which will take 6-7 hours to reach Kasauli.
Flights to Bhuntar are not so reliable as they are often cancelled due to weather conditions.

You won’t get a direct train to Kasauli as Kasauli does not have a railway station of its own.
Kalka is the nearest and one of the most important railheads of north India. It is located around 40 km away from Kasauli town. Kalka is well-connected railway station with a number of cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Mumbai.
You can travel from New Delhi via different trains to reach Kalka first. Some of the trains are:

From Kalka, local buses go to Kasauli but it takes a lot of time to reach Kasauli by these buses. You can take a Roadways bus to Dharampur. From Dharampur, you can hire a taxi to Kasauli.
You can hire a taxi from Kalka railway station also. They are available outside the station and take you to Kasauli.

At Timber’s Trail, ropeway rides are used to go from one side to another. It is located in Parwanoo and is easily accessible by road.
