The sin city of Kuta, a village situated on the Islands of Bali is just a town which was once just a normal community with a little population and no tourist at all. The place was visited by only the misanthropes visiting Bali and just wanted to explore.

The place became famous when some visitors by chance realized the beauty and relaxation here. Kuta became famous for its surfing culture. Now, some visitors used to visit Kuta to surf and chill due to the proper types of waves on the shore while on a trip to Bali.

But now, Kuta is one the busiest place in Bali, Indonesia. It’s now considered as over-crowded by some people due to the heavy traffic carrying thousands of tourists every day to hundreds of resorts and hotels built to attract visitors.

The drunken teens on the street, the crimes like rape, theft, loot, and murder are the factors adding to the negative reputation of Bali and surrounding beaches. Kuta is also known as epicenter of drugs and prostitution and is dwelling a lot with these things.

Still, Kuta if experienced in a right manner can give you a mesmerizing memories, pictures and happiness to share throughout your life. Avoid the sins and concentrate on the bright side. Here are the 10 reasons to love the controversial Sin City of Bali.

1. Discovery Shopping Mall

Shopping comes complimentary with Travelling. Going to new places and bringing back some essence of their like clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs is must. Kuta’s Shopping scenes are also as much vibrant as the parties and surfing. There are markets and malls spread all over the village testing the bargaining skills of tourists.

The Discovery Shopping Mall is the largest shopping mall in Kuta and among the largest in Bali. This mall is famous for its location. It is Located on the main road of Jalan Kartika Plaza on the beach side location with an amphitheater made on the sands.

The Kuta Art Market is a very famous beach side market in Kuta. This place is a paradise for those who love art and culture. The market is full of attractive artefacts which could be taken home in a cheap price; all you need is bargaining skills. es etc. The events under moonlight on the beachfront are a feeling which can’t be expressed but only be experienced.

2. Kuta Art Market

The Kuta Art Market is a very famous beachside market in Kuta. This place is a paradise for those who love art and culture. The market is full of attractive artifacts which could be taken home in a cheap price; all you need is bargaining skills.

Make sure you match prices and rover the whole market before buying anything. The soft game can be played with the shopkeepers and your politeness may get you more than expected.

There are several shops of souvenirs including beer holders, Balinese printed T shirts, key chains, fridge magnets etc. Arts & handicrafts are also a major deal here. Several beautiful ornaments, bracelets, and necklaces you can find in the market.

3. Kuta Beach

Kuta beach is considered one of the best on Bali. If you are not bothered by crowd and noise, then this is the beach you are looking for. The yellow sand beach is visited by hordes of foreign tourists every day.

Kuta is one of the first tourist developments; is a paradise for travellers. It’s known for the party culture and also it’s a famous surfing spots too. People from all over the world visit Kuta to party and surf due to the consistent waves on the shores.

Spend your time flying kites on Pantai Kuta, or buy wooden bows, Buddha heads as souvenirs, or spend some time with the infamous Kuta Cowboys trying to flirt and teach surfing. Old people will give your feet a massage at a reasonable cost, so practice some Indonesian with them and get a beer.

4. Kuta Square

If you are really not in a mood to explore the malls which are somehow not different from any others, then Kuta Square is the place where you can be fulfilling the desire of shopping and exploring the streets too.

Kuta Square is literally a square area filled with 3 storey buildings on both the sides of the road and housing different stores in it. From Armani, Versace, Gucci to some local brands, all the stores are available here.

The street is full of clothing stores as well as dining areas. Other things you can find are shoe store, ice cream parlor, watch stores, optic stores etc. So, don’t waste time roaming in the mall and buying unusual and unwanted things and visit the Kuta Square to shop faster and better.

5. Mad Ink

Kuta is famous for the tattoo parlours in the streets. Just walk the Poppies Lane and you can see it yourself the number of tattoo parlours, the smallest being right on the streets and some well-established in a building too. Getting tatted in Bali has become a great trend from some time.

One of the best tattoo parlors on the streets of Kuta is Mad Ink. It was listed as one of the best tattoo parlor by the Magic Ink Magazines. This is due to the owner as well as a resident of Kuta, David. The new designs and the art created by David are very popular in Kuta.

So, if you ever visit Bali and Kuta then don’t forget to get tatted from the Mad Ink store. This place has a clean record and hygienic atmosphere. The experience would be nice.

6. Waterbom

If ocean water is not enough to chill, move to the Waterbom water park in Kuta which gives the chill with some thrill. This water park is probably the best thing to spend a whole day enjoying in Kuta. The park is full of easy and thriller rides to make your vocals shrill.

The park also has eating stores which serves delicious snacks which should be eaten after taking all the rides only or you may throw up in between. The lush green area around makes this place much beautiful.

The rides are worth trying. From taking a tour of the park on a doughnut shaped boat to falling vertically down through a pipe, the rides are extreme and adventurous. Take out a day out of your schedule to explore this place too.

7. Feyloon

One of the most famous Chinese restaurants in Kuta is Feyloon Restaurant. It is located in the tourist centre of Kuta. With a surprisingly vast menu, the place is built to give the authentic buzz of Hong Kong Cuisines like dim sums, seafood dishes, Cantonese BBQ etc.

The Restaurant can hold up to 300 guests on its 2 floors and the place is used regularly to celebrate family joys. The table are for 12 and some are even rotatable to pass on the various dishes on it to everyone. The atmosphere inside is filled with golden and scarlet colours.

This place is preferred also due to daily performance by a live performer on the stage keeping the evening alive and energetic. The chef Liu serves some of the best Chinese cuisine you can eat in Indonesia. If you are a fan of Chinese food then you must visit this place.

8. Take Restaurant

Opened in 1999, this is the oldest and authentic Japanese restaurant in Kuta. This place serves the best and freshest fish in the town. The Japanese tradition is well followed in this restaurant.

From Tatami Japanese style dining area, sushi counter, robata counter, Teppanyaki counter to VIP rooms, all the services are available here. The staff will welcome you with great enthusiasm and the chef and owner will come to you to get feedback in a very polite way.

9. Twice Bar

The real underground world of Kuta lies here. A US biker club themed bar in Kuta is something a visitor will be curious about. The place if full of mystery people, inks and drinks along with some notorious bands like battlefield, Superman is Dead etc.

Submerge into the wild and enjoy the rocking ambiance from some of the meanest visitors shaking legs and heads on the indorock music by the notorious bands. Be rebellious the next time you visit Kuta.

10. Night Life

The night life of Kuta is something anyone should experience while a visit. If you are not much into wild parties with no class but just some naked people drunk and running around the place, music with no low volume button, cheap booze and maybe drugs then it’s better to stay in Seminyak.

Seminyak is a place where you can find clubs where sophisticated crowd arrives. The prices are high too. Some of the best clubs are OPIVM, Cocoon Beach club etc.

Or you can just explore the beaches with a beer or on the streets too. Nightlife is the thing which can be enjoyed in different ways. So party hard or enjoy the pleasant time under the moon.
