Malaysia is a place known for traveling and exploring. The capital is Kuala Lumpur which is known for its diverse culture, skyscrapers, nightlife, night markets, temples and other attractions.

Some people may have not heard about Petaling Jaya but it is also known as twin sister of Kuala Lumpur. The area of this city is just 2.12 km square and in today’s date more than 500,000 people reside there. Still, the city managed to become a famous metropolitan city.

Petaling Jaya is the first planned city of Malaysia. Petaling Jaya has so many things to do that you’ll need almost a week to explore this city. From shopping to dining to adventures, it has it all.

1. Sunway Lagoon

The Sunway Lagoon is a theme park in Petaling Jaya. It is the perfect place to spend a day and chill to the fullest. It consists of five parts in total that are the Water Park, Scream Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park and Wildlife Park.

The water parks consist of the biggest man-made surf beach, the FlowRider. It is Malaysia’s first surf simulator and nowadays competitions are held in this place between surfers. Other interesting rides are African Python, Cameroon Challenge, Congo Challenge etc.

The Scream Park is a haunted theme park. There are lots of scare zones and haunted house. There are many interesting spots like Pontianak theater of fear, ghost house, Laser tag, horrorwood studios etc.

The adventure park consists of adventurous activities like treasure hunting, adventurous escape and some rides that will take you soul away for a second. Some famous rides are Buffalo Bill Coaster, Colorado Splash, Grand Canyon Rapid Falls and a 428 metre suspension bridge that gives a perfect view.

In the Extreme Park, you can find paintball arena, archery range, rock climbing, go karting, golf etc. It also has Country’s first bungee jump and Asia’s highest sling shot ride.

The Wildlife Park consists of more than 150 species of different animals from around the globe. The shops are there and also educational tour is provided.

2. Scuba Diving at Sealantis Dive Centre, One Utama

3. Sunway Pyramid

It was open in 1997 and is one of the largest shopping center in Malaysia. The theme of this mall is the main attraction for visitors. The theme is inspired from Egyptian pyramids and architecture. There is a giant sphinx standing guard at the entrance which is a treat to witness in Malaysia.

It is the only mall in Malaysia with an ice skating rink. There are many faux-pharaoh statues, a pyramid shaped complex and many more things of theme. It is spread across 1.7 million square feet area and is connected to the Sunway Lagoon to the north.

The mall is divided into two parts that are the old wing and the new wing also known as Pyramid 2. The old wing has all the clothing brands and exhibition centers. Many sources of entertainment are present there like food courts, ice skating rink, boutiques, comic stores etc.

The Pyramid 2 is equipped with departmental store, book stores, super market, local retailers and some restaurants. It’s a total of 5 floored mall.

4. The Curve

The Curve is a famous mall of Petaling Jaya just because of its flea market. There are almost 250 stores in the mall and also there is an open space for dining and gazing. The mall is full of international and local brands.

The mall is famous for its flea market which is set up in the open space in between like a bazaar. You can find cheap local clothes, souvenirs, handicrafts, antiques, arts and collectibles there.

The menu comprises of different types of coffee out of which the café’s signature 22 martin blend is a must try. Also eatables are included which are sort of American in style like sausages, wild mushrooms, beef and other delicacies. You can try the pancakes too which are really delicious.

The unfinished looks given to the inside, the place gets a cozy ambiance and the only thing that is changing is the performance and drinks. So just order a beer and some food and enjoy the acting performance or jazz music performance or acoustic nights.
